Hector Villareal is running for Jim Wells County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1.

Hector L. Villarreal

Hector L Villarreal Sr is a retired Special Agent, Criminal Investigator with the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) with 33 years of federal service. He is currently serving as a Court Security Officer (CSO) with Walden Security contracted with the US Marshals Service at the US District Court in the Southern District of Texas in Corpus Christi, TX.

Hector was born and raised in Alice, Jim Wells County, Texas and is a 1983 graduate of Alice High School.

Hector began his law enforcement career in 1984 as a Police Officer with the Kingsville Police Department until 1986 when he joined the US Army as an Infantryman until his end of term service in 1994. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. 

Hector began his federal law enforcement career in 1995 with the Department of Justice, US Border Patrol, as a Border Patrol Agent, Senior Patrol Agent and Supervisory Border Patrol Agent until transferring as a Special Agent until his retirement in 2016. 

During his tenure, he served in many capacities instructing at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, US Border Patrol Academy and the ICE Special Agent Academy.  Hector is certified as a Basic Instructor, Law Instructor, Spanish Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Drivers Training Instructor instructing at both the basic and advanced levels.    Hector is a certified TCOLE instructor. 

Hector served as the Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, Title IX Coordinator, and Master Peace Officer until his appointment as the Site Director for Coastal Bend College- Alice campus.  

Hector earned his Associate of Arts in General Studies, Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Science in Management from the University of Colorado and is currently a Doctorate of Criminal Justice student at North Central University.

Hector is a reserve Peace Officer for the Kingsville Police Department and for the Jim Wells County 76th District Attorney’s Office as an investigator as a Master Peace Officer.
